حبيب بن زيد بن عاصم
c. 633 CE · c. 11 AH
An Ansari of Banu Mabdhul of Banu al-Najjar; the Prophet ﷺ sent him with Abdullah ibn Wahb al-Aslami to Musaylima, who left Abdullah unharmed but cut off Habib's hands and feet — al-Waqidi has them brought from Oman with Amr ibn Umayya (may God be pleased with him) al-Damri (may God be pleased with him), Musaylima sparing Amr and those with him save these two — his mother being Nusayba bint Ka'b who fought at al-Yamama.

Overview
Habib ibn Zayd ibn Asim (may God be pleased with him), an Ansari of the Banu Mabdhul of the Banu al-Najjar. The Prophet sent him with Abd Allah ibn Wahb al-Aslami to Musaylima. Musaylima did not touch Abd Allah, but he cut off Habib's hands and feet. Al-Baladhuri gives the words of al-Waqidi that the two had come with Amr ibn Umayya al-Damri from Oman, and that Musaylima took them captive, and that Amr and those with him escaped except these two. Their mother was Nusayba bint Ka'b, who fought on the day of al-Yamama. 1
His mutilation came before the battle of al-Yamama. His death is estimated at around 11 AH; the conversion to the Gregorian calendar is derived. 1
