Overview

Salama, chamberlain of al-Qahir billah. al-Suyuti quotes al-Suli that al-Qahir was reckless and a shedder of blood, and that had it not been for the good qualities of his chamberlain Salama, he would have destroyed the crops and the people. This is al-Suli's judgement, as al-Suyuti transmits it 2.

Ibn al-Athir reports that he was taken captive together with the vizier al-Khasibi on the day al-Qahir was deposed, in the year 322 AH 3.
