Overview
Judge Majd al-Din Abd al-Majid ibn Umar, known as Ibn al-Qadwa, of the Karramiyya of the Haysamiyya branch. He held a high standing among them in Firuzkuh for his asceticism, his learning and his household. 1
His debate
He debated Fakhr al-Din al-Razi in the court of the sultan Ghiyath al-Din al-Ghuri in 595 AH, and the exchange ran on at length. Ibn al-Athir relates that al-Razi became overbearing toward him and insulted him. 1
The unrest
The next day Ibn al-Qadwa preached in the mosque and declared that he would say only what was authentically reported from the Messenger of God ﷺ. The people wept and cried out, and the town was filled with unrest, until the sultan intervened and expelled al-Razi from Firuzkuh. See the Firuzkuh unrest. 1
