Al-Baladhuri relates that he protected al-Harith ibn Zalim and sheltered him after Khalid ibn Ja'far was killed. On the day of Rahrahan he was stabbed in the dust of the horses and fell. Two men of the Banu Ghani, Amir and al-Tufayl, the sons of Malik, captured him, and then in return for his capture they gave his captors twenty camels. His brother Laqit reproached him for this some time later. 2
