Overview
Nawfal ibn Abd Manaf: Abd al-Muttalib's uncle who seized his arkah lands after al-Muttalib's death, until he was compelled to restore them by Abu Sa'd al-Najjari's sword and the pact of Banu Hashim and Khuza'a.
Life
When al-Muttalib died, Nawfal leapt upon Abd al-Muttalib's arkah lands and seized them from him, while Quraysh's elders refused to intervene between the two sons of the brother 1.
When Abu Sa'd ibn Adi came with eighty riders and drew his sword at the sanctuary-stone, Nawfal returned the lands, with Quraysh's shaykhs bearing witness over him 1.
For young visitors
Nawfal is Abd al-Muttalib's uncle; he took his nephew's right, then returned it when his mother's people came to aid him.
