An elderly woman of the first converts, tortured in Mecca for her faith; the tradition counts her the first martyr of Islam, mother of the Companion Ammar ibn Yasir.

مات ياسر والد عمار في العذاب، و«طعن أبو جهل سمية أم عمار في قُبُلها بحربة فماتت، وهي أول شهيدة في الإسلام» 1.
للزوار الصغار
سمية أم عمار من أوائل المسلمين، عذّبها المشركون في مكة لأنها أسلمت، وصبرت حتى ماتت. ولهذا يُذكر اسمها دائمًا بين الشهداء الأوائل.
