Adnan (the Arabized Arabs)

Adnan: father of the Arabised Arabs descending from Isma'il's loins — called the Adnaniyya — from whom come Mudar and Rabi'a, and from them Quraysh.

The Arabised Arabs are those descending from Isma'il's loins, called the Adnan Arabs ¹. The clans of Ma'add ibn Adnan branched from his son Nizar, who had four sons from whom four great tribes spread: Iyad, Anmar, Rabi'a and Mudar — the last two's clans grew many and their branches wide ².

From Rabi'a: Asad, Anaza, Abd al-Qays, and Wa'il's two sons Bakr and Taghlib, and Hanifa; from Mudar: Qays Aylan and the clans of Ilyas, among them Tamim, Hudhayl, Asad and Kinana — and from Kinana, Quraysh ¹.
