Overview
A man of the Huraqa of Juhayna, an ally of the Banu Murra. Ibn Ishaq's account says nothing of him except that he was killed in the raid of Ghalib ibn Abdallah on the land of the Banu Murra. 1 Usama ibn Zayd and a man of the Ansar overtook him. When they drew their swords on him he said: "I bear witness that there is no god but God", and they killed him. The Prophet disapproved of this and asked Usama: "Who will vouch for you with 'there is no god but God'?" 1
Notes on the report
- The attribution of his lineage to the Huraqa of Juhayna is given by Ibn Hisham from Abu Ubayda, and the editors point to disorder in the wording in some copies. 1
