The first Lakhmid king of al-Hira, appointed after Jadhima al-Abrash’s death in the reign of Shapur son of Ardashir; from him the Lakhmid kings succeeded each other until Khosrow replaced them with Persian governors.

    Amr ibn Adi ibn Nasr al-Lakhmi: the first of the Lakhmid kings over al-Hira, in the reign of Sabur ibn Ardashir.

    Life

    After Jadhima's death, Amr ibn Adi ibn Nasr al-Lakhmi — first of the Lakhmid kings — was appointed over al-Hira in the reign of Kisra Sabur ibn Ardashir 1.

    Lakhmid kings then succeeded one another over al-Hira until the Persians appointed a Persian governor after Iyas ibn Qubaysa 2.

    Amr ibn Adi was the first king of the house of Lakhm in al-Hira; from his line the Arab kings under Persia succeeded one another for three and a half centuries.
